I am a newcomer to amateur radio, currently active mainly on the VHF and UHF bands using a variety equipment. At present I operate with this selection of fine devices:

- as a daily drive, a Yaesu FT-70D, the instrument of choice for some C4FM experimentation (and when I cross the border into Switzerland, where I can't operate anything Chinese-made);
- as a base tranceiver, Yaesu FTX-1 Optima (which I operate when my YL IU2VYB is not looking at me)
- a cheap Baofeng UV-5RX, the latest iteration of the infamous UV-5R which I bought on Temu by mistake and ultimately brought me to the Ham examination.

I am keen to deepen my understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects of radio, with particular interest in propagation, electrical engineering and circuit theory. Having studied Physics, I have a somewhat solid theoretical background, which I am happy to share with those preparing for the amateur radio examination, including the HAREC certificate.

I believe in a rigorous yet collaborative approach: amateur radio is about experimentation, study and public service. 73!
